The magnificent Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela will amaze you with the charm of its Baroque architecture and the rich facade dominated by the statue of St. James: admire the sumptuous Portico della Gloria and its 200 sculptures and the Major Chapel which houses the remains of the saint. A tour on the roofs of the Cathedral will give you a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains but, after a stop at the Pilgrimage Museum, we recommend that you enter the maze of the narrow streets of the historic center before tasting the pulpo à feira of the Mercato de Abastos. Looking for some relaxation? Rest in the shade of the trees of the Alameda Park.

Santiago de Compostela

A path towards self-knowledge

It is the burial place of Saint James and the final destination of the journey that for centuries has left millions of pilgrims breathless in search of divine illumination. Santiago de Compostela is a sacred mix of history and art. The star of the city is the immense 13th-century Cathedral where the body of the patron saint of Spain lies: from the articulated facade to the shiny botafumeiro, your visit will be full of ecstasy. Climb the roofs of the Cathedral, wander around Praza do Obradoiro and visit the museums of the city.

  • Explore the ancient Praza do Obradoiro
  • Stroll through Parque de la Alameda
  • Visit the imposing Cathedral
